What is CNIB Market? 

CNIB Market is a showcase for talented Canadian creators and entrepreneurs with sight loss to sell their unique handmade goods on a national stage. We're home to hundreds of high-quality artworks, handcrafted goods, home décor items, jewelry and much more

Are all the creators blind?  

Yes, all of the artisans showcased on CNIB Market are individuals who are blind or partially sighted 

How is CNIB Market affiliated with the CNIB Foundation? 

CNIB Market is an initiative by the charity CNIB Foundation, designed to empower Canadian entrepreneurs and creators to be as successful as possible in building their careers.  

What percentage of proceeds go to the CNIB Foundation and what percentage go to the creator? 

Twelve per cent of the proceeds from each product purchased on CNIB Market go to the CNIB Foundation to support its life-changing programs and services, and 88 per cent go to the seller.  

How do I make a purchase through CNIB Market? 

See something you like? Just click on it and click "Add to Cart". When you’re ready, click the cart icon and follow the steps to check out.  

What payment methods do you accept? 

We accept all major credit cards, PayPal and Apple Pay. 

What are the shipping costs for CNIB Market products?  

When you purchase a product on CNIB Market, the shipping cost will be calculated at checkout based on your location. You'll see this before you check out and will have the option to change the shipping speed and shipping method.     

How can I be sure my credit card/payment info is secure online? 

All credit card transactions on CNIB Market are performed with industry standard encryption and security that meets Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards. For more information about this, click the security badge at checkout. 

How can I get in touch with a creator if I have questions about products or my order? 

To contact a creator, visit their page in the "Shop" section, and locate their email address below the introductory paragraph. You can connect with creators with specific questions about their goods or request commissions. Alternatively, click the "Contact" link in the navigation bar to send a message to the CNIB Market team, or email us at market@cnib.ca  

I don't live in Canada. Do the creators ship to other countries?  

Yes. You'll see the calculated shipping costs for any order (including international orders) when you're ready to complete a purchase at checkout. This will be reflected in the shopping cart. 

Are all shipments made through Canada Post? 

For now, yes. If you want to arrange a separate shipping provider with a creator, please connect with them directly on their page.  

How quickly will the creator ship the product after I place my order? 

Some orders will take longer than others to prepare due to the nature of materials or the amount of labour that goes into creating the productYou'll receive updates on when your order has been received, when it ships and when the item has arrived. If you want to know ahead of time approximately how long the creator will take to ship the product, contact them directly through their page in the "Shop" section.  

I've tried getting in touch with a creator, but they're not responding. What do I do?  

Fill out the contact form on our "Contact"page to connect with our team at CNIB Market. We can help you get in touch with the seller and/or resolve your issue. You can also email us directly atmarket@cnib.ca  

Are all the creators Canadian? 

Yes. All of the creators listed on CNIB Market are Canadian.  

haven't received my order. What do I do? 

If you haven't received your order, you can contact the creator for an update directly through their email address, which is listed on their page in the "Shop" section. If the problem persists, you can fill out the contact form on our "Contact"page to connect with our team at CNIB Market. We can help you get in touch with the seller and/or resolve your issue. You can also email us directly at market@cnib.ca  

Are refunds available? 

Each artisan featured on CNIB Market has a different return/refund policy, so check with the artisan's page to learn more about his or her policy. Remember, most items are one-of-a-kind or customized so the majority of artisans do not provide refunds on their orders. However, if an item is damaged or the artisan is not able to fulfil your order, we can process a refund on your credit card.
